The Hermitage

General Andrew Jackson,
seventh President of the United States, is buried at The Hermitage - his Tennessee home. He was the last president to know all his predecessors.
Opened as a museum in 1889, the mansion serves as a reminder of a very, very different America.
He was born of humble origins but owned many slaves.
He fought the British at New Orleans.
He put in place the Indian Removal Policy.
He almost fought the French over money.
He vetoed more bills than all his predecessors combined.
Hmmmmm.
